Here is my problem, and details about it:. When I installed Windows 7 it made 2 partitions: The actual storage partition and another partition which I can't get rid of due to some unknown reason. I have already removed the Windows 7 partition and it is declared as unallocated space.

I have also tried renaming the partition itself to try and get to to erase, but that didn't work either. When I try to format it, it gives the following error: 'Windows cannot format the system partition on this disk'. Is it possibly because the drive is marked as active? And if so how to i remove that setting?

Is there any way that I can remove this partition? I'm trying to go back to Vista and therefore don't need it.
